  • Freelance Computer Programmer to Business Owner

Hello my name is Robert BrownFarley and I began as a freelance computer programmer in 1974 on a Sinclair computer.

Back then the programs were small and simplistic to very complexed as far as ASCII, BASIC, FORTRAN, PASCAL, COBAL, and Report Program Generated ( RPG I, II & III ).

Before we ever entered a line of code we were taught to question what we wanted and how to go about implementing it, handwrite our code, create a flowchart, then enter our code on a dummy terminal, which then would feed the code to a mainframe ( such as a PDL11) and if done correctly would produce our end result. If not then we would have to repeat the process. Each day we had to save / cache our programs onto cassettes, floppy disk, and reels to reutilize them.

Part of our programming included setting up data files to be retrieved later upon recall. One of our classroom projects included creating a completely computerized metropolitan phone directory.

My initial independent freelance programming job was creating a local real estate listing program which as my skills grew so did my reach into the real estate world. I also created a mortgage and lending program, a title and research program, and many more...

BroFarOps SEO and Internet Marketing Services

After a semi-freezing weekend and a family hectic now it is almost Monday morning and time to get back to work in the salt mines and marketplaces. So the next question on this non-bloggers mind is what to blog about... I could write about how lucky we got when it didn`t snow here or how icy and wet it was over the weekend... Or how a drop in visit by the out of town family was... Or how my dog and cat was somewhat invisible when the family came in... Or how my daughter became ill and wanted to argue all weekend... But I am certain that none of that would thrill anybody.
Most of my peers and clients know that I work around the clock 24/7 so I am always thinking and always on the move. I follow my favorite forums, reading and absorbing all that I can, and helping those who need help whenever there is a hark. This weekend in that regards was no different.
As an "Information Technologist" I am always at the ready when some device acts up and somebody needs a support tech. The same can be said as a "search engine optimization specialist" as a client needs somebody to quickly update content on a website too. As an "Internet Marketing Specialist" there are endless roads of campaigns that must get done and out into the marketplaces. Seperately, I am also working on my own darn computer system as my process decided to go on the frits, complete teardown and repair diods, transistors, resistors, fuses, and replace the modular interface.
So while most of you were away from work and at home or out enjoying the weekend, I was busy doing those things I enjoy best... working.
As I have told many, my passion which I myself do not call a job is anything computer and internet related.
I am not a blogger, however, atleast not a professional blogger, but when it comes to my clients I put them first, because in all reality who pays the bills.
I hope you enjoyed this and found my dedication to be your focus. Enjoy your work week.

BroFarOps SEO and Internet Marketing Services

Well it is back to work Tuesday after an enjoyable 2 holiday weekend for all those whom celebrated Valentines Day with their partners, spouses, or life companions - and Monday for those whom celebrated Presidents Day as a salute to our Presidents past and present.
I enjoyed spending time with my daughter and a few family members who I have not seen in almost 3 decades. We really didn`t do much outside of setting around catching up on the past years and talking about the last time we had seen each other as far as in passing with a quick hey and gone... It was fun to talk of the last times we had all sat together, played video games on the Super Sega and Nintendo systems of the 80`s. We even talked of the old trampalien at another relative`s house and playing pool at anothers. We really had a good time all in all and agreed to getting together more often as we all use to do at our Uncles & Aunts of yester-year so that our children would have family memories and tighten family bonds as we once had amongst our youth.
Those were the good ol` days before social networks of MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, and the other 50 or so networks, when families use to actually physically come together and interacted as a big happy family.
This makes me wonder if we aren`t loosing some of our family values and precious youthful memories to the internet, as we simply plugin to find out whats happenning around the family verses these old traditional get togethers.
Additionally, our families appear to be getting further and further apart as brothers and sisters move to opposite coast and or states away.
Would love to hear your feedback on the subject from your point of view.

BroFarOps SEO and Internet Marketing Services

I have told thousands that I am not a blogger. If you noticed that there are not many blog post that is because I actually dislike putting my thoughts to page. I am a verbalist, a communicator, and an interactive socialist. However, I am not one who likes to do public speaking...
Yet I do boardrooms and general small get together meetings. We live in the corporate world where time is money and the longer we are in meetings behinde closed doors we are not infront of our customers.

I believe alot of us in the world are much the same way. I answer questions and write short stuff by pen or send a quick email due to my schedule. Many times it is just a matter of finding a quick resource and passing it along.
As most of us know many answers are at our fingertips unlike decades ago when we actually had to physically go to the files, libraries, and other resource centers and search results. Now with Semantic Search, Hummingbird, Knowledge Graphs, and so on this has now become a matter of minutes not days, weeks, months, or longer...
As an "Internet Marketing Specialist" it is up to me and my team to arrange all these resources and create unique relevant quality content for our clients and prospects. That means finding the best material and strategizing how to get the most out of those resources.
Again, I am not a blogger I am more a content manager and marketer. We often get caught up in titles but the truth is there is some validity as to what is behinde the title a.k.a a job decription.
Hope you enjoyed the article and feel free to read more about content writing.
